Nowadays, all big companies have a FaceBook page. Small entrepreneurs also have a FaceBookpage to promote their business thinking that their content is safe and that it will reach lots of people… not anymore.
FaceBook is becoming greedy and as they have recently changed their algorithm for FB pages, less and less posts are showing in newsfeeds. The move is to force you, users, big brands and small entrepreneurs to pay for your posts to show.
Big corporations have the money to pay for FB ads or they can choose to do media buys instead if they want. But the small entrepreneur is going to be penalized once more. Free traffic is not to be taken for granted and this is the reason it is best to diversify, not only one’s free traffic sources, but also to add paid traffic to the equation.
Building a FaceBook page is too much work on a system that you do not own and control and you risk to lose everything. It is why I always advise to have a blog that you control and then post on social media. This way if one of the social media sites go down or decide to become paid, you are safe.
