More than a year ago, I started to look into membership sites and I even started to create several pages for it. Unfortunately, I never launched it as I pursued other online ventures. After reading a blog post, I decided to revive the project, which I called “IM Study Club“.

Membership sites are a great way to earn an additional income selling your expertise. If you are an expert in any field and want to use your evenings at doing something useful that can potentially earn you an Expert status and a monthly growing income, you should look into starting your own membership site.
If you are a carpenter, you can show people how to repair their furniture, doors and windows in the house. If you are a make-up artist or stylist, you can teach women how to wear their make-up according to their mood or circumstances. If you are a Maths teacher, you can create a tutorial covering the national curriculum for the grades you select.

With the technology we have available today, it is easy to shoot and edit videos. A simple camera or even your iPhone can be used to record what you have to say and show. This is if you are comfortable shooting videos. If you are not, you can make PowerPoint presentations, record your computer screen and voice, or simply your voice.
Now, the issue may be that you have never made a website before. Here too, the technology of today make it more simple for you to develop your own website. No need to hire an expensive web developer, but you do need to take the time to learn how to put up a membership site together.

– Domain name
– WordPress
– OptimizePress 2.0 software
– Optimize Member plugin
(There are other software for membership sites, but this is what I am using.)
You will need a small budget for this and will be on your way, not only to earn money for your expertise, but also help a lot of people who need your information.
