Use the FaceBook Grid Tool to Get your Ads Approved

FaceBook has a policy of 20% maximum of text in your News Feed ads. Having too much text will cause your ad not to be approved and you can spend quite a lot of time to figure out what 20% in the image could be. Hopefully, FaceBook has a very useful tool called the “Grid Tool”.

What you have to do is upload your image here.

Do you see the grid in the image?

And then click on the squares that contain text like this.

We can already see that there is a huge area with text…

FaceBook will show you your resullts.

In this case the image has 44% of text, which is too much.

FaceBook Guideline: Ads that have more than 20% of text in their image won’t be approved to run in News Feed. Too much text can look like spam and make people think that your ad is low quality. Make sure to use the headline and body of your ad to tell people more about why you’re advertising and what you want them to do.
