Acupuncture Treatment at the Thai Nakarin Hospital

I have been struggling for a month with a pain in the neck, left shoulder, arm and hand with numbness in the thumb probably due to my time spent at the computer. I decided then to get anacupuncture treatment at the Thai Nakarin Hospital in Bangkok.

Before the acupuncture treatment, I went to the hospital 4 weeks ago and had a total of 4 X-rays done. After a week on medication, it got better and on the second visit, the doctor prescribed me a second set of pills saying the problem will be resolved on its own in 3 weeks.

I took the pills for 2 days and felt miserable, sleepy from morning to evening, not capable of doing much and also experiencing headaches. I searched the medicine on the Internet and found out that one was an anti depression medicine that is not prescribed for depression anymore but the kind of ailment I have.

I was not happy, stopped the medication, and decided to let the problem resolve by itself in reducing computer use, which is for me very hard to do… using a better posture and having more rest. I also decided to treat this with acupuncture. The hospital near my place only has a 2 hours spot on 2 days of the week where acupuncturists come.

So, now I am at the Thai Nakarin Hospital in Bangna, which is at 40 kilometers from my place. They have a Chinese clinic with 3 full time acupuncturists covering all days of the week.

This was not my first time at acupuncture as I had been treated for allergies when I was a child in France. This time I had 15 needles from the neck to the hand, connected with electricity, for 30 minutes. The treatment was painless and the electricity produced a funny sensation where the needles were planted.

I have two more sessions to go, tomorrow and on Monday. I already feel improvement and I am confident it will be the end of the problem. I have also been prescribed chinese medicine and this will be the first time for me.

I will have to be brave for this one.

Wish me luck!
