In the video Jerry explains that the username you choose for your Fiverr account is very important indeed because this can make or brake your progress selling gigs on Fiverr.
Just like any property online what you want to do is to use your brand or even better your name to create your account, so that people knowing you on other places like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook or your own website can find your Fiverr account in Google search.
First, the key thing to do before you even create your gig, especially if you don’t have a Fiverr profile, or if you want to take Fiverr seriously, is to pick a username that you can use indefinitely. I’m using my name as I am showing you on my profile here. I’m using Jerry Banfield.

After your Fiverr account is created with your username, then it is time to create your first gig. In the video tutorial Jerry explains step by step how to create your gig, so I really advise that you watch the video.
All gig starts with “I will” like “I will make a black and white logo…” and Jerry advises to only offer a gig that you will enjoy doing.
The worst mistake you can make on Fiverr is to offer to do something you won’t enjoy doing. “Do not offer to do things you don’t want to actually do.”
Jerry has offered gigs in the past that he did not enjoy doing, that didn’t even made him money and I recall him talking about this in a lot of his videos.
Even before creating your first gig, putting some thoughts in your profile is a good idea.
When you take a look at my profile, you can immediately see what I’ve created and produced in a simple statistical format online. Then I can also keep that updated.
The profile is a very important part of your gig because I look at gigs and consider profiles heavily before I actually order. Your profile is there to build trust. You want to make sure to set up your profile good before you even get into your gig.
In Fiverr, the options you can have for your gig depends on what category your gig is. For video gigs, for example, and many other kind of gigs, you can make 3 packages at different prices like shown below.
The “Basic” package that you can price at $10 (or even $5) can get you new customers, while the “Standard” and “Premium” packages will be great for people who want a little more than the basic and returning customers.
In the video tutorial Jerry explains exactly how he sets his pricing for the gig and how you can earn even more in offering an option for faster delivery.
Some people may be willing to pay for faster delivery time. Especially if it’s a last-minute birthday gift, someone might be willing to throw an extra $10 to get it back within 24 hours.
